Who is Bonifacio Comandante, Jr?

Bonifacio Comandante, Jr. is a multi-awarded scientist, inventor and former UP senior lecturer. He finished his Doctoral Studies in Anthropology with distinction in 2009 and MS Economics at the Asian Social Institute Manila.

In Siliman University, Bonifacio finished his Masters in Coastal Resources Management (2004) and candidate for PhD in Marine Biology. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering at UP Los BaƱos ang bagged second place in the licensure examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission for Agricultural Engineers in November 1978. He has patent applications for seven inventions/innovations and copyrights for five pioneering works including studies on the ancient Filipino script, Baybayin.

He has won in ten science-based competitions in the Philippines and abroad. Bonifacio received the Outstanding UP Los BaƱos Alumni award in 2010 for Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship and the UP Diliman Alumni Award in 2011 for Science and Technology. He is the inventor of the technology that allows live fishes to be transported in non-aquatic or waterless conditions.
